Later that evening, I am taking the night off and heading over to see Mermaids play w/ Carnivores and The Selmanaires at Highland Ballroom.
Triple D’s Presents: The Selmanaires, Carnivores, & Mermaids at The Highland Ballroom | Saturday April 10th | 9PM
Sunday, I’ll be at MINT Gallery for the Working Class Heroes Photography Exhibit Closing Party from 3-6pm.
Details here: Closing Party: Working Class Heroes Exhibit @MINTgallery | 3-6pm
I am super psyched about some things coming up this month that I will tell you more about very soon, but in the meantime, my favorite day of the year is almost here. Yep! April 17th is Record Store Day 2010! I wanted to give a shout out to all the folks over at Criminal Records who really do a fantastic job with this event. I will be taking the day off and getting there early. This year’s line up can be found here: http://criminalatl.com/Event/36738
I am pulling this straight from the Criminal Records Newsletter:
“An all-day event featuring EIGHT live bands, exclusive releases from your favorite bands and labels, plus beer (thanks, Pabst Blue Ribbon!) and cake (because it ain’t a party without cake!), in addition to a bargain-filled sidewalk sale and contests and giveaways and all sorts of fun stuff.
Oh, yeah, and we’ll be screening the documentary, We Fun, throughout the day (the DVD comes out on April 17th, and we’ll have it on sale for only $9.99 for that day only. It goes up to $21.99 on Sunday!) Aaaaaand if that isn’t enough partying for you, there will be an after-party at the Star Bar featuring Noot d’ Noot, Recompas, and the 4th Ward AKO!
Seriously, y’all won’t want to miss a minute of this awesome day. We’re opening early at 10am and closing late at 10pm, then re-opening for our exclusive, late-night closing ceremony with Rodriguez. Whew!”
Yes! Yes! Looking forward to it!
